Werefoxes
Werefoxes are shapeshifters capable of transforming into foxes. While they share many traits with other shapeshifters, their behavior and appearance tend to be more elusive, making them highly adaptable at blending in with human populations. They tend to be associated with stealth, intelligence, and a certain cunning nature, which aligns with common fox folklore.
Their physical forms are generally human-like, with subtle fox features—such as a slender build, upturned eyes, and other fox-like traits that set them apart from normal humans. However, these traits can become more pronounced when their emotions or instincts are heightened.
Origins and History
Reports suggest that werefoxes are present in various parts of the world, with some specific folklore linking them to places like China. However, their origins and exact distribution remain unclear. While the persecution of supernatural beings in history, particularly during regimes like that of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in China, has impacted various species, werefoxes' ability to look like normal humans has allowed them to hide in plain sight. This has made them harder to detect compared to other shapeshifters, like werewolves or clan tigers, who may stand out more.
It is suggested that werefoxes may still exist in isolated or hidden communities, possibly in areas where they can remain unnoticed by the general population. While many supernatural beings were targeted during historical purges, the werefox's ability to blend in and avoid attention allowed them to survive through the years.
Physical Characteristics
Werefoxes typically appear human but may have subtle fox-like features, such as:
-
Eyes: Upturned or slightly more angular than typical human eyes, which may contribute to a fox-like look.
-
Hair: Their hair can be a variety of colors, though shades of red, golden, or brown are often associated with their fox heritage.
-
Body Shape: Slender, agile, and graceful, reflecting the lithe build of a fox. These traits may help them move silently and unnoticed in human spaces.
In fox form, they are small and highly agile, able to navigate their environment with speed and stealth. Their fur typically resembles that of a fox, and their behavior often mirrors the intelligent and cunning traits of the animal they transform into.
Behavior and Temperament
Werefoxes are often described as shy, nervous, and timid, though their exact temperament can vary between individuals. Generally, they are not as confrontational as other shapeshifters, preferring to avoid conflict and remain under the radar. Their wariness often leads them to avoid direct interactions with those outside of their trusted circles. This is especially true when they perceive threats or danger.
Their timidity does not mean they are weak, however. Werefoxes are survivors, and their ability to remain hidden or escape dangerous situations is a crucial survival skill. They are often known for their intelligence, resourcefulness, and ability to think quickly in challenging situations, even if they don't have the physical strength or confidence to fight back.
Abilities and Traits
Like other shapeshifters, werefoxes possess enhanced healing, which allows them to recover from injuries much more quickly than ordinary humans. They can also exhibit heightened senses, such as superior hearing and smell, aiding their ability to avoid detection and react quickly to changes in their environment.
In addition to these physical abilities, werefoxes may have the ability to manipulate perception or hide their true nature, making them harder to detect both by humans and other supernatural beings. This ability could be linked to magical or mental tricks that allow them to avoid being perceived as what they are, though the full extent of these abilities remains unclear.
Social Structure and Community
Werefoxes are often solitary or live in very small, closely-knit communities. Unlike werewolves, who tend to form packs with rigid hierarchies, werefoxes may not have the same kind of formal social structures. This could make them seem more isolated, especially if they have had negative experiences with larger supernatural communities. Therefore, they are not suitable for organization as a group.
Many werefoxes prefer to stay out of the spotlight, finding refuge in environments where they can remain inconspicuous. However, in some cases, they may join forces with other supernatural beings—be it other shapeshifters or wizards—in order to protect themselves or achieve common goals.
Integration with Human Society
One of the defining features of werefoxes is their ability to blend seamlessly into human society. Their human forms are usually indistinguishable from regular humans, which allows them to live relatively unnoticed, even in societies where other supernatural beings might be targeted or hunted. Their fox-like features may be more noticeable when they are in moments of stress or when they allow their true nature to surface.
This ability to pass as human means that werefoxes can hide in plain sight, often avoiding interactions with others unless absolutely necessary. This may also lead to internal struggles, as some werefoxes are torn between remaining hidden and embracing their identity.
Notable Traits and Characteristics of Individuals:
-
Timidity: Many werefoxes may appear fearful or anxious, especially in unfamiliar or dangerous situations. This can lead to behavior such as excessive self-protection, avoiding confrontation, and being nervous in large crowds.
-
Stealth and Agility: Werefoxes are known for their speed and agility, allowing them to move without being detected, whether in human or fox form.
-
Nervous Habits: Some werefoxes may have behaviors that reflect their anxious nature, such as fidgeting, hiding, or holding themselves in a way that makes them seem smaller or less noticeable. These habits may be particularly noticeable when they are under stress.
Weaknesses
-
Timidity and Fear: Many werefoxes are naturally anxious or fearful, especially in unfamiliar or dangerous situations. This can cause hesitation when decisive action is needed.
-
Vulnerability to Magic: Despite their stealth, werefoxes may not be as resistant to magical influences as other supernatural beings. Certain magical forces could expose them or cause harm (you can choose 2). I.E: telepathic communication confuses the hell out of them.
-
Difficulty in Forming Alliances: Their solitary nature makes it challenging for werefoxes to form lasting relationships or engage in large social groups, leading to isolation or vulnerability in certain situations.
-
Over-reliance on Stealth: Their preference for avoiding confrontation can backfire, causing them to miss opportunities for action or fail to intervene when they could be of help.
-
Limited Offensive Capabilities: Werefoxes lack the raw physical strength or combat prowess of other shapeshifters, relying more on evasion than direct confrontation.
Integration with Larger Supernatural Communities
Werefoxes, due to their more elusive nature, may not always have the same kind of social dynamics as larger shapeshifter groups like werewolves. Some may avoid involvement in broader supernatural politics, while others may find it necessary to engage with other supernatural creatures for survival or mutual benefit.
Despite their solitary nature, werefoxes may form alliances or relationships with other supernatural beings, such as shapeshifters or even humans with powers, especially when faced with threats from human authorities or other dangers.
LYCAN LEVELS AND INHERENT POWERS
Omega
-
Animal Awareness (Weak): Can sense unshielded lycans and other supernatural beings (e.g., vampires, humans, humans with powers, etc.).
-
Healing: Can heal wounds by shifting to beast form, but it doesn't fully heal wounds caused by silver, other lycans, or vampires.
-
Internal Beast: A metaphysical presence within the lycan that can be provoked to shift by stress, fear, orgasm, or sight of blood. The inner beast can be projected as an aura to greet other lycans.
-
Senses (10x compared to humans): Enhanced hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch.
-
Stamina (5x compared to humans): Increased endurance, strength, speed, and reflexes.
-
Unrestrained Transformation: Once shifted, they remain in beast form for 8-12 hours. Afterward, they pass out and shift back to human form. Shifting too quickly (animal to human) drains energy, causing a coma-like sleep for a minimum of 12 hours.
-
Vital Signs Changes: Heart rhythm, muscle tension, perspiration scent, and emotional indicators change with lycanthropy.
Moderate
-
Animal Awareness (Moderate): Can sense unshielded and shielded lycans, as well as other supernatural beings.
-
Healing: Can heal wounds by shifting completely, with faster healing. Blood loss weakens the lycan. Wounds caused by silver, fire, and vampires heal at the same rate as humans.
-
Internal Beast: The beast can still be provoked by stress, fear, orgasm, or sight of blood and can project its aura to other lycans.
-
Moderate Transformation: Once shifted, they remain in beast form for 8-12 hours. They have more control over their transformation and may resist shifting, though they cannot resist the full moon.

Specific Powers:
Choose 1 as Omega, 2 as Moderate and 3 as Alpha.
• Absorb (Exclusive to Werefox): Store energy from the group to give back an extra burst of power to shift or bolster their shields in short term bursts lasting less than a half hour.
• Bark (Exclusive to Werefox): A bark that travels over a mile and directs to attack or flee depending on tone.
• Scent of the Wild (Exclusive to Werefox): The werefox can briefly enhance their sense of smell to track and identify hidden individuals or detect magic. This power allows them to follow scents over vast distances and even identify emotions or intentions based on the scent’s nuances, much like a fox tracking prey. This power can also be used to detect hidden magical forces or curses affecting a person or object.
• Quickstep (Exclusive to Werefox): A supernatural burst of speed that allows the werefox to move at incredible speeds for a short duration, akin to the darting movements of a fox. This power enables the werefox to close distances instantly, dodge attacks with ease, or escape danger by moving in a blur. The effect lasts for a few seconds, but the werefox must wait several moments before using it again.
• Shadowmeld (Exclusive to Werefox): Werefoxes can merge with shadows or natural concealment, becoming nearly invisible for a short period. This power allows them to blend seamlessly with their surroundings, using darkness or their environment to evade detection. It’s particularly useful in stealth or escape situations, making them nearly undetectable when stationary or moving quietly.
